About Wayanad
Situated at an altitude of 700-2100 Mts. above msl, Wayanad is around 100 kms from the old port town of Calicut - Kozhikode, Ooty-Ootacamund and the Princely state of Mysoreand thus being the centre of the major tourist centres of South India. Approachable by road from all these places, Wayanad is one of the few hill stations that can provide one with unspoiled beauty in its natural form.

Wayanad is home to exotic legends, ancient ruins, mysterious mountains, aboriginal tribes, hidden treasures, tree houses, jungle trails and exotic wild life. One can see the world's last surviving tracts of tropical biodiversity in its many plantations, enchanting water falls, gorgeous mountains and the pristine forests. Wayanad is flanked by Mudumalai and Bandipur tiger reserves and the annual migration of the elephants and other herbivore into Wayanad wild life sanctuary is a treat to watch.

Being almost totally isolated from the rest of the districts of Kerala - Wayanad has a particularly characteristic history its own. In short Wayanad can be called as the place where JUNGLE MEETS THE COUNTRY.
About Wynberg Resorts
Carved inside plantations - coffee / pepper / areca nut / cardamom - Wynberg is hidden deep inside far way from the maddening crowds where one can hear the Proverbial PIN DROP SILENCE. All the chalets - cottages are built in the form of primitive tribal dwellings each different from the other. We take you back to live in 18th century - yet providing you with all comforts of the 21st century - from plush bed - bathroom comforts to Internet.

Wake up to the call of birds - not your alarm clock - laze in your bed to get a taste of fresh plantation coffee - in the real sense. Watch the numerous birds from the jungle including myna to bulbul to rocket tall drongo - if you are lucky the great Malabar hornbill. Watch the many species of butterflies/moths and numerous other insects around the resorts.

Watch the tribals work in the coffee and pepper plantations - learn the way the freshly brewd coffee reaches you from these plantations, learn how the world famous pepper is cultivated and harvested, how the cardamom pods are picked, how the natural rubber is milked and becomes the tyre or your doormat or your bathroom sandals. You are amidst these plantations and you are allowed to feel, experience and enjoy how the various things that you take for granted are being cultivated to become a value added product before it reaches your homes.
